Job Summary of Bakery Sales Clerk:

To assist with the upkeep and running of the Bakery Department. A Bakery Sales Clerk is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and managing the day-to-day functions within the bakery department. Tasks include preparing, packaging, labeling, and replenishing baked goods such as bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies.

Responsibilities of Bakery Sales Clerk:

• Maintain shelves in a tidy and well-organized fashion.
• Utilize a method of labeling products with expiration dates in order to facilitate the daily removal of expired merchandise and uphold freshness standards.
• Precisely package and price all items with legible and accurate information.
• Stick to the regular cleaning and sanitation schedule as laid out in company policies.
• Cultivate positive customer interactions by ensuring prompt and respectful customer service.
• Extend a friendly welcome to all customers and remain attentive to your surroundings.
• Abide by all the guidelines and regulations stipulated in the Employee Handbook of the organization.
• Take phone orders and handle personalized inquiries.
• Help in the process of baking different products.
• Support customers in placing an order for a cake by offering assistance throughout.
• Help with the unpacking and correct placement of incoming goods.

Qualifications of Bakery Sales Clerk:

• Must have strong communication skills to provide adequate customer service.
• Must have dexterity in hands to wrap and package products.
• Must be able to read and write to properly tag and price the products.
• Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds as needed.
