Responsibilities of Produce Assistant:
- Promotes a clean and secure setting in the produce department, floral section, storage area, and work zone to uphold safety standards, involving activities like cleaning shelves and items, ensuring floors are free of liquid spills, and removing any hazardous debris.
- Duties in the stocks segment involve tending to the floral department by arranging and rotating merchandise, ensuring products are displayed front-facing, replenishing stock, structuring items according to the Produce Department schematics, and validating the accuracy of tags and prices.
- Attends to customer inquiries promptly and guides customers through their purchases, offering information and assistance in product selection; includes selling and cross-promoting products to meet customer needs.
- Examines, logs, and verifies products to ascertain their shipment accuracy, temperature adequacy, and quality validation.
- Keeps an eye on the point of sale advertisements, verifying the presence of various recipe cards, product vouchers, promotional literature, and information about complimentary food options.
- Involves working with instruments such as blades, measuring tools, wrapping devices, compacting machinery, waste disposal units, pallet moving equipment, and manual transport carts.
- Contributing to pre-inventory prepping involves actions such as arranging back stock and ensuring that tags are consistent with the products.
- Manages and operates the program for slicing fruits and vegetables.
- Is responsible for driving sales and ensuring departmental profitability.
