The role of a Self-Checkout Cashier at Winn-Dixie is pivotal in ensuring that customers encounter a hassle-free and productive checkout process. Your main tasks will involve supervising multiple self-checkout counters, offering support to customers as required, and actively encouraging them to utilize self-checkout stations, all the while maintaining exemplary standards of accuracy and customer service. The emphasis will be on preventing inventory shrinkage, guaranteeing accurate scanning and packing, and sustaining a well-maintained, orderly, and secure self-checkout environment. Responsibilities of Self-Checkout Cashier:

• Safeguard against inventory discrepancies or dishonest behavior at automated checkout stations by consistently delivering exceptional customer care and intervening as needed.
• Monitor self-checkout interactions carefully to spot any irregularities or suspicious actions.
• Monitor customers as they scan and pack their purchases, offering assistance to ensure everything is done correctly.
• Promptly address Point-of-Sale notifications and examine any potential irregularities or problems.
• Alert store leadership to any instances of theft, suspicious activities, or malfunctions with equipment for prompt action.
• Offer remarkable support in the Self-Checkout areas following SEG's service guidelines.
• Offer information and support to clients regarding the proper execution of self-checkout procedures to prevent errors and enhance overall satisfaction with the service.
• Encourage positive customer engagements to cultivate a friendly shopping ambiance and discreetly discourage any suspicious activities.
• Regularly address customer demands by promptly and politely acknowledging, aiding, and expressing appreciation to them.
• Observe standard lanes for unusually heavy traffic flow and extend invitations to waiting customers to utilize the self-checkout facilities, while ensuring a friendly and positive atmosphere is maintained.
• Support clients with product scanning as necessary and ensure the work environment is tidy, well-maintained, and devoid of safety risks.
• Stock the products displayed in the front of the store and make sure that the self-service checkout section is well-equipped with necessary items.
• Maintain a practice of cleaning and sanitizing equipment during periods of inactivity or in the event of spills.
• Ensure the shopping carts are returned to their proper location and handle any other assigned responsibilities.

Requirements of Self-Checkout Cashier:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures. High standard of integrity and reliability.
• Basic computer skills required for online training.
