Beauty and Wellness Clerk

As a Beauty and Wellness Clerk, you will play a key role in supporting our mission to be the most trusted neighborhood grocery store by ensuring an organized, welcoming, and customer-focused shopping environment.

Role and Responsibilities:

In this role, you will help maintain the health, beauty, and personal care sections of the store. You will assist customers, manage inventory, and ensure that all displays meet company standards of quality and presentation.

• Stock, organize, and replenish health and beauty care products according to company guidelines.
• Ensure all items are accurately labeled, neatly arranged, and visually appealing for shoppers.
• Monitor product availability and notify supervisors of low inventory or stock concerns.
• Use the “first in, first out” rotation method to maintain freshness and product integrity.
• Welcome customers to the HBC department and assist with locating and selecting products.
• Respond to questions about products, promotions, and store policies in a courteous and professional manner.
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations and information about product features and usage.
• Assist with creating attractive promotional displays and seasonal end caps for featured items.
• Maintain accurate signage for new products, discounts, and promotional offers.
• Keep the department clean, organized, and free of clutter at all times.
• Receive and unpack HBC deliveries, complete inventory checks, and help with stock counts during audits.
• Identify and remove expired or damaged merchandise from the sales floor promptly.
• Work collaboratively with fellow associates and department managers to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Assist with training new team members and share effective HBC department practices.
• Adhere to all safety procedures, company policies, and quality standards.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience in retail or customer service, preferably in a grocery, pharmacy, or health and beauty setting.
• Knowledge of consumer products, including health and beauty care items, is an advantage.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse customer base.
• Strong organizational skills to manage inventory and maintain department cleanliness.
• Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in labeling, stocking, and product displays.
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and available to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with health and beauty care products and current market trends.
• Experience using retail systems, such as scanners, registers, and inventory management tools.
• Understanding of effective merchandising and visual display techniques.
