Job Summary of Retail Grocery Associate:

As a Retail Grocery Associate at Winn-Dixie, you will play a key role in providing an excellent shopping experience for customers. You’ll greet, assist, and thank customers in a prompt, courteous, and friendly manner, properly record sales, and operate cashiering equipment accurately while recognizing all forms of tender. You will help maintain well-stocked and organized grocery, general merchandise, dairy, and frozen food areas, ensure product freshness, and assist with receiving and unloading vendor deliveries. Responsibilities of Retail Grocery Associate:

• Consistently address customer needs and deliver service that exceeds expectations.
• Greet, aid, and express gratitude to patrons with friendliness and politeness.
• Propose diverse product choices that align with the preferences or requirements of shoppers.
• Organize and turn over department inventory to uphold its freshness and adhere to proper date monitoring, all the while maximizing the efficiency of supply utilization to minimize surplus waste.
• Operate department equipment and tools securely following safety procedures.
• Aid in accepting vendor merchandise and expeditiously unloading delivery trucks.
• Regulate checkout counters according to service criteria and ensure the accuracy of sales reports.
• It is important to return the carts to the designated corral for the next customer's use.
• Flag incidences of employee theft, customer theft, unauthorized discounts, property vandalism, or any actions that are illegal or contrary to company policy for management's awareness.
• Complete additional responsibilities as directed by superiors.

Qualifications of Retail Grocery Associate:

• Meet legal and company policy age requirements to perform job functions.
• Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
• Ability to understand and follow English instructions.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
