Our Pastry Specialist is a key player in making sure our pastries look and taste amazing. In addition to providing unparalleled guest service, you'll create beautiful and delicious art for our guests and provide the sweets that will be the hit of their parties. As a Team Member, you'll be part of a team that emphasizes building lifelong relationships with our customers by focusing on understanding and exceeding their needs. As a member of the Bakery team, your primary responsibility will be preparing and decorating the products and cakes in the department to ensure only the freshest are available.

Job Responsibilities:

• Convey cakes from the prep zone to the sales spot to furnish tables and display cases with an assortment of baked goods.
• Abide by correct procedures to help the store stay within its out-of-stock percentage limits.
• Strategically employing merchandising tactics can lead to increased profits and customer satisfaction.
• Attend to special orders from patrons over the telephone and during in-person engagements.
• Sustain the quality of products available for sale by regularly checking the sales area for expiration dates and the state of the items.
• Log daily occurrences of identified loss.
• Ensure that safety remains the top priority in all areas of our work to protect our team members, guests, and products.
• Provide exemplary customer service by greeting customers and ensuring they are able to locate the products they are looking for. Bakery Team Members are also expected to have sufficient knowledge to answer questions and make suggestions to our customers.
• Encourage your colleagues and guests by radiating a deep passion for cuisine and a willingness to make extra efforts to deliver top-tier dishes.
• Implement the necessary steps for overseeing products and equipment according to the guidelines of food safety and safety to ensure a secure shopping environment.
• Comply with safety and sanitation guidelines by ensuring that equipment, tables, utensils, and floors are maintained in a clean condition.
• Organize and adorn merchandise for the Bakery presentations and showcases, regularly changing their display positions and following code dating procedures to ensure that customers have access only to the most recently prepared items.
• Adhere to departmental standards by following appropriate safety and sanitation protocols, emergency guidelines, steritech practices, safe lifting procedures, and maintaining cleanliness.
• Keep a detailed record of specific requests for Bakery products to ensure customers are happy with the outcome.
• Sustain department protocols, daily arrangements, order processing, comprehension of copyright regulations, and appropriate product circulation.
• Make it a point to constantly update yourself on new product information and procedures, including categorized product insights, specialized orders, cake program details, portion control protocols, seasonal product variations, and color blending techniques.
• Apply icing onto cakes with spatulas and piping bags, transforming them into visually appealing treats.
• Ready the frosting and supplies for all cakes and other decorative items after carefully reading recipes, measuring ingredients precisely, and mixing the product as needed.
• Aid in promoting productivity in Bakery storage spaces through the unloading of incoming shipments.
• Work with department tools like mixers, scales, airbrush guns, knives, cut-resistant gloves, and anti-slip footwear to complete tasks efficiently.
• Offer help in different areas as needed.

Job Requirements:

• Mandatory Experience: Successful completion of a skills assessment pertinent to the role; a minimum of 6 to 12 months of experience or the completion of the Giant Eagle Apprenticeship curriculum
• Formal completion of high school is not required for meeting this educational standard
• Weight Restriction: Lifting task limited to 50 pounds
• The age restriction demands individuals to be 18 years or older
