Role and Responsibilities of Food Safety Associate:
As a Food Safety Associate, you play a vital role in upholding the cleanliness, safety, and appeal of the store environment. Additionally, you are responsible for minimizing losses and ensuring compliance with the established standards of Food Lion to enhance the overall customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Uphold a culture of eager customer engagement with an emphasis on efficient, welcoming, and precise support.
- Offer friendly and useful help to your fellow team members.
- Sweep and tidy floors during off-hours when vendor visits are not scheduled.
- Carry out regular cleaning tasks in the Produce, Market, and Deli areas on a weekly basis.
- Neatly clean and sort the maintenance room in the store.
- Finding streamlined approaches for task completion is key to cutting expenses and boosting productivity.
- Ensure compliance with the daily quality assessment checklist and uphold sanitation protocols.
- Follow standard procedures for the cleanup of hazardous substances.
- Ensure conformity with the stipulations, directions, and typical methods prescribed by Food Lion.
- Ensure compliance with the established guidelines and protocols for both Food Safety and Workplace Safety.
- It is important to identify any unsafe conditions, rectify them, and inform the Manager on Duty to ensure a safe environment.
- Ensure that all regulations at the local, state, and federal levels are being followed accordingly.
- Maintain a clean and organized look by wearing the designated Food Lion uniform and displaying a name badge at all times.
- Achieve success in Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packets, and Training Aids.
- Fulfill any other responsibilities as designated.
Required Skills and Experience of Food Safety Associate:
- Completion of high school or similar education is desirable.
- Having strong interpersonal, coordination, verbal, and client support aptitudes.
- Showing aptitude and readiness to grasp diverse tasks and necessary technical skills for the job.
- Skill in utilizing technical data for problem-solving.
- Fulfilling the minimum age requirements is essential for executing particular job tasks.
- Being able to meet the physical prerequisites of the job, whether accommodations are needed or not.
Physical Requirements of Food Safety Associate:
- Competence in operating computers and various communication systems is a prerequisite for executing job duties effectively.
- Execute repeated actions with hands and arms.
- Perform consistent bending and raising of items up to 15 lbs, with frequent lifting of 25 lbs, and occasional lifting of 50 lbs.
- Transport loads of up to 75 lbs periodically using a pushing or pulling motion.
- Remain on your feet consistently with frequent periods of movement.
- Take care of organizing cleaning and wrapping items, along with a selection of fresh produce, potted plants, and household cleaning products.
- Use hands for the manipulation of currency and the operation of registers, lottery machines, scanners, and calculators.
- Regularly extending arms to waist height with intermittent instances of reaching above or below.
- Meet the accepted criteria for workload and performance.
- Operate in extreme heat or cold settings for a maximum of 20-minute durations.
- Maintain the adequate visual capacity to authenticate identification, checks, invoices, and other written materials.
