Role and Responsibilities:

As a Cashier, you will play an essential role in customer satisfaction and store efficiency. Your responsibilities include:

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Accurately process customer transactions including cash, credit, debit, coupons, and loyalty programs.
• Provide assistance by answering product-related questions and offering suggestions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies regarding restricted items such as alcohol and tobacco.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized checkout area.
• Balance the cash register and adhere to cash-handling procedures to minimize loss.
• Promote Kroger services, programs, and promotions such as rewards and surveys.
• Report pricing discrepancies, safety concerns, and theft in accordance with company policy.
• Contribute to store teamwork by supporting associates and maintaining a positive work environment.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills including counting, addition, and subtraction.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining professionalism.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a cashier, courtesy clerk, or in customer service.
• Bilingual or multilingual communication skills.
