Role and Responsibilities:

As a Deli Associate at Brookshire Grocery Company, you will deliver friendly and knowledgeable service while assisting customers in the deli department. You will prepare deli products, maintain cleanliness, and support a positive shopping experience, ensuring food safety and quality standards are met.

• Greet customers, take deli orders, and guide product selection with recommendations.
• Prepare deli items including sliced meats, cheeses, salads, and sandwiches following company standards.
• Maintain product freshness, rotate inventory, and ensure visually appealing displays.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene guidelines at all times.
• Clean and sanitize deli counters, slicers, equipment, and workspaces regularly.
• Assist with receiving, inspecting, and stocking deli products while monitoring expiration dates.
• Process deli transactions accurately and efficiently at the register.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain smooth operations during peak hours.
• Promote deli specials, seasonal offerings, and in-store promotions to drive sales.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to enhancing customer service and department performance.

Required Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous deli, food service, or retail experience is advantageous; training is provided.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with a professional and approachable demeanor.
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Basic math skills for pricing and transactions.
• Capacity to stand for long periods, lift up to 30 pounds, and handle physically demanding tasks.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures (training provided if necessary).
