Role and Responsibilities:

As a Fresh Produce Clerk, you will play an essential role in keeping the produce section fresh, orderly, and welcoming while providing exceptional service to customers. You will help maintain product quality and ensure smooth department operations.

• Greet customers and offer assistance with produce selection and product information.
• Create and maintain appealing displays of fruits and vegetables.
• Stock shelves, rotate items, and remove damaged or expired products to maintain freshness.
• Verify that all produce items are accurately priced and clearly labeled.
• Receive and inspect deliveries, ensuring quality standards are met.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs promptly.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the department and storage areas.
• Collaborate effectively with team members, management, and other departments.
• Assist in training new produce clerks or team members as needed.
• Support other departments during busy periods or as directed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to excellent service.
• Basic knowledge of fruits and vegetables with willingness to expand expertise.
• Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Attention to detail to maintain high cleanliness and organization standards.
• Team-oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, proactive, and strong work ethic.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Minimum age requirement: 18 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

• No prior produce experience required; grocery or retail experience is beneficial.
• Basic math skills for pricing and cash handling tasks.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly pay: $15.00 - $17.00, depending on experience and location.
