The Bakery Production Manager plays a crucial role in directing and supervising all bakery department functions, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This position involves overseeing staff, scheduling production, managing inventory levels, and enforcing food safety protocols. The Bakery Production Manager is responsible for upholding sanitation regulations and fostering a positive work environment within the department.
Responsibilities of Bakery Production Manager:
- Tasked with executing merchandising plans for the designated area.
- Tasked with ordering goods to oversee inventory management and guarantee the freshness and quality of products.
- Responsible for the procurement and upkeep of commercial bread inventory, emphasizing the importance of maintaining freshness and high standards of product quality, particularly for Stroehman, Maier's, and private label bread selections
- Ensure compliance with all regulations related to receiving, dating, and refilling to uphold effective product rotation.
- Take part in reducing dimensions.
- Successfully coordinate and manage the timing of department employees.
- Ensure compliance with organizational guidelines regarding safety and hygiene protocols.
- Uphold and present essential records and feedback.
- Keep an eye on the quality and freshness of products
- Ensure compliance with weights and measures as well as health department guidelines mandated by local, state, and federal entities.
- Manage the production and baking processes of the department.
- Manage the onboarding of newly hired bakery department workers.
- Extend greetings to patrons and deliver quick and polite support.
- Encourage and sustain favorable interactions among team members.
- Adhere to the predetermined ratios for sales distribution, employee supervision, and inventory loss prevention.
- Skilled in the embellishment of cakes is a necessary ability for this role.
- Aid in the unloading of products.
- Regularly check inventory to prevent running out of essential supplies.
- Managing the inventory and display within the whole sales section.
- Take part in general cleanliness and organization duties in the department.
Qualifications of Bakery Production Manager:
- Must have math skills at a level that would enable accurate counting of merchandise.
- Must have strong communications skills.
- Must have dexterity of hands to enable bagging and packaging of products.
- Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds up to fifty percent (50%) of the time.
