Role and Responsibilities:
In this position, you will help maintain the overall appearance and organization of the health, beauty, and personal care department. You will ensure the shelves are fully stocked, displays are appealing, and customers receive friendly and helpful assistance every time they shop.
- Stock, arrange, and replenish health and beauty products according to company procedures and merchandising plans.
- Verify that all items are properly priced, clearly labeled, and attractively presented on the sales floor.
- Monitor inventory levels and report low-stock or out-of-stock issues to your supervisor promptly.
- Follow the “first in, first out” rotation system to preserve product freshness and integrity.
- Greet and assist shoppers in finding items and offer knowledgeable advice on health and beauty products.
- Provide clear information about product benefits, promotions, and store guidelines in a professional and approachable manner.
- Recommend suitable products based on customer preferences and needs.
- Help design and set up promotional or seasonal displays that showcase featured merchandise.
- Keep signage accurate and up to date for sales, discounts, and new arrivals.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and clutter-free department throughout your shift.
- Unload and process HBC deliveries, perform stock checks, and assist with periodic inventory audits.
- Identify damaged or expired merchandise and remove it from the sales area promptly.
- Work closely with fellow associates and department leaders to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with training new team members and share effective merchandising and customer service practices.
- Adhere to all company safety guidelines, policies, and quality standards.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in retail or customer service, preferably within grocery, pharmacy, or health and beauty settings.
- Basic knowledge of consumer products, particularly in the health and beauty category, is a plus.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse shoppers.
- Strong organizational skills to manage stock levels and maintain product displays efficiently.
- Keen attention to detail to ensure accurate labeling, pricing, and presentation.
- Good teamwork and communication abilities.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform standing, walking, bending, and reaching tasks for extended periods.
- Must be at least 18 years old and able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with health and beauty care products and current industry trends.
- Experience using retail systems such as registers, scanners, or inventory management tools.
- Understanding of merchandising techniques and effective product display layouts.
