Job Summary of Frozen Product Assistant:

The Frozen Product Assistant plays a key role in supporting the Dairy/Frozen Manager with daily operations and overall department performance. Core responsibilities include stocking and rotating merchandise, maintaining product freshness, and ensuring shelves remain full and visually appealing. The role also involves unloading trucks, monitoring expiration dates, setting up displays, and confirming correct pricing and labeling throughout the department.

Responsibilities of Frozen Product Assistant:

• Ensuring that the main priority is providing exceptional customer service.
• Practicing integrity, responsibility, and excellence while following all policies and rules.
• Creating alluring, fully-furnished, and easily navigable categories.
• Aiding in overseeing orders for the dairy and frozen departments and maintaining accurate inventory levels under the direction of the department manager.
• Assisting department managers in effectively managing margin, COGs, and overall department profitability through shrink reduction and strategic purchasing enhancements.
• Confirming that the quality and specifications of available products meet company standards.
• Taking care of individual orders and providing follow-ups to customers.
• Arranging merchandise on shelves, endcaps, and dynamic retail showcases.
• Assisting in helping to oversee and actively participate in tagging, presenting, repositioning, cleaning, marking down, restocking, and managing surplus inventory.
• Overseeing the training and task management of department staff members to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
• Active demos prioritize engaging the audience through participation, while passive demos focus on delivering information in a more controlled and structured manner.
• Coordinating with department heads to address and improve the department's performance.
• Providing assistance with store opening and closing activities, including tasks like maintaining the Daily Sales Report (DSR), managing cash handling, and completing cashier closeout duties.
• Responsibilities related to register functions comprise supervising backup cashiering activities, processing customer refunds, addressing customer complaints, and managing changes in register shifts, including coverage during scheduled breaks.
• Maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and employees.
• Responding to customer questions in accordance with company standards, which may involve incorporating health-conscious statements or emphasizing nutritional support.
• Perpetually expanding one's knowledge base of products.
• Employing SAP and inventory management software, along with emailing and utilizing other IS software programs as necessary.
• Working a schedule based on store needs which includes evenings, weekends, holidays. Position requires working five days, 40 hours per week and attending mandatory store meetings.
• The position involves limited responsibilities as a manager on duty and is not meant to be the primary manager overseeing the store.

Qualifications of Frozen Product Assistant:

• A high school diploma, GED, or an equivalent credential is preferred for this position.
• Those with familiarity in natural foods and at least one year of experience in a grocery or retail environment are preferred candidates for this opportunity.
• Preference is given to candidates with one year of supervisory experience.
• Satisfactorily fulfilling the food safety training requirements and certifications mandated by law and ensuring compliance by keeping certifications up to date and duly registered when required.
• Expertly organizing changing priorities and sustaining attention on the task at hand.
• Maintain a sense of urgency throughout task execution to maximize productivity.
• Have a high level of skill in delivering exceptional customer service.
• Highly ordered with a great focus on precision.
• Showing a talent for taking guidance and ensuring tasks are carried out diligently.
• Successful candidates must be adeptly trained as cashiers and capable of precise currency counting.
• Experienced in effectively using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

Physical requirements of Frozen Product Assistant:

• Must have the ability to constantly lift or carry up to 10 lbs., frequently lift or carry 11-20 lbs., and occasionally lift or carry 21-50 lbs. Must also have the ability to occasionally lift or carry 51-100 lbs. with a team lift.
• Should have the capability to frequently push or pull loads weighing up to 15 pounds and occasionally transport items within the weight range of 16 to 100 pounds.
• The ability to occasionally operate a computer for tasks like data entry and mouse use is essential.
• Throughout the work shift, maintaining a continuous walking pace, standing position, precision in hand movements, grip strength, bending, twisting, turning, and reaching outward are required.
• The position requires the individual to be able to reach above chest level regularly.
• Must be capable of sitting, squatting, kneeling, and climbing when necessary.
• Familiarity with working often around sharp tools, equipment, dust, fumes, and tight work environments is expected.
