Job Summary of Cake Decorator:

In the role of a Cake Decorator, your main duty involves embellishing baked goods. Your responsibilities will include aiding customers with their bakery requests over the phone and in-store. Responsibilities of Cake Decorator:

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee's designated department or elsewhere in the store.
• Makes an effort to learn customers' names and to address them by name whenever possible.
• Assists customers by escorting them to the products they're looking for, securing products that are out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, performing other tasks in every way possible to enhance the shopping experience.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call including taking product orders.
• Takes customer orders at Bakery counter.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Checks orders for the day and sets up a timeline and production schedule.
• Decorates bakery items in a timely manner.
• Keeps current on new designs and trends.
• Ensures department standards are met.
• Checks cake orders for details (size, deco pack, icing needs, dates) daily and indicates supply needs.
• Orders supplies for decorating area and checks off the order.
• Delivers product and sets up wedding cakes on site (outside the store).
• Communicates with bakery manager regarding displays, weekly ads and special needs on a daily basis.
• Checks product dates, pulls cases for work and lists items to fill or replace.
• Develops bakery orders for bakers on a daily basis. (Orders cakes, sizes, etc.)
• Tracks daily retail production.
• Identifies, with co-workers, tasks to be completed.
• Operates as a lead worker with part-time or other employees. (Instructs and reviews work).
• Participates in employee cross training.
• Understands and practices proper sanitation procedures and ensures the work area is always clean and neat.
• Adheres to company policies and individual store guidelines.
• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
• Wraps all product as necessary.
• Assists in other areas of the store as needed.
• Performs other job related duties and special projects as required

Qualifications of Cake Decorator:

• Completion of secondary education or its equivalent
• Less than half a year of comparable or relevant job background
• The necessity to effectively address real-world challenges is crucial, requiring the capacity to navigate diverse factors under constrained uniformity and understand guidelines.
• Proficiency in performing mathematical operations with fractions, decimals, and percentages
• Proficiency in submitting, sharing, and sending documents is necessary
• Transfer information from one entry to another
• Obtaining fundamental details through an interview process
• Assist individuals and offer fundamental guidance.

Physical Requirements of Cake Decorator:

• The ability to apply a maximum force of 100 pounds (with team lifting) on occasion, 50 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly for object manipulation is required.
• Visual needs encompass the ability to see clearly within a range of distances, both up close and far away, whether aided by corrective lenses or not, as well as the capacity for perceiving colors, judging distances, and having a wide field of view.
• Must possess the capacity to engage in various physical tasks such as scaling, maintaining equilibrium, bending, crouching, extending, remaining upright, moving on foot, exerting force, tugging, hoisting, clutching, sensing, communicating verbally, perceiving sounds, and carrying out recurring movements.
