Role and Responsibilities:

As a member of the Seafood Counter Clerk, you will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day activities within the seafood department, focusing on maintaining the freshness of products, upholding food safety standards, and providing excellent service to customers.

• Provide excellent customer service that is kind, welcoming, and informed.
• Manage the arrangement and replenishment of seafood displays, ensuring proper labeling and rotation of items.
• Aid patrons in selecting seafood, providing guidance on cooking techniques, and fulfilling any special requirements they might have.
• Ensure compliance with all rules related to the safety, cleanliness, and accurate labeling of food products.
• Regularly inspect the quality of products and promptly remove any items that do not meet the standards for sale.
• Assist seafood team management in meeting targets for sales, profitability, and workforce productivity.
• Offer support in overseeing inventory, arranging backstock, and tidying up the department area.
• Comply with the standard operational procedures of the store and department.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Skilled in providing top-tier customer care and adept at clear and efficient communication.
• Skilled in handling responsibilities promptly within a dynamic retail atmosphere.
• Eagerness to grasp the skills necessary for dealing with, cutting, and preparing seafood.
• Compliance with instructions, rules, and protocols governing food safety measures is crucial.
• Willingness to work outside traditional business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in retail, grocery, or food service is a plus but not essential.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation for this position commonly commences at $15.00 hourly, along with the chance to qualify for Whole Foods Market's inclusive benefits program named Whole Benefits.
