Job Summary of Food Merchandiser:

This role supports fresh food and grocery operations including departments such as deli, bakery, produce, dairy, meat, and dry goods. You ensure quality standards are met while providing exceptional customer service. From checking freshness to stocking shelves and preparing food, this position plays a key role in helping customers access healthy, fresh, and delicious food options daily.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Food Merchandiser:

• Assist shoppers in finding and deciding on fresh and packaged grocery items.
• Ensure that the produce, deli, bakery, meat, and dairy areas are stocked with high-quality merchandise.
• Maintain product placement on shelves, rotate stock, and inspect inventory for freshness and aesthetics.
• Pack and serve prepared meals in accordance with food safety standards.
• Offer assistance for fulfilling customer orders, ranging from cake decorations to customized deli requests.
• Keep work areas tidy and sanitized to meet the cleanliness requirements set by the store.

Qualifications and Experience of Food Merchandiser:

• Position for newcomers with training assistance.
• A basic comprehension of food safety and handling is desirable.
• Giving careful consideration to particulars and maintaining quality assurance protocols.
• Outstanding customer service and communication capabilities.
• Willing to accommodate flexible schedules that may involve weekends and holidays.

Salary:

Depending on the experience, the pay can be anywhere between $16.00 and $26.00 per hour. There may be additional costs of $0.35 to $3.00 per hour, which could vary based on the shift, department, or season.
