  • Customers are acknowledged and aided in line with the company's guidelines for exemplary customer service.
  • Company managers are anticipated to uphold professionalism and deliver appropriate leadership to their team.
  • The company ensures that customer complaints are addressed according to its established guidelines.
  • The shop's design is inviting and geared towards providing a positive shopping experience.
  • The desired products are currently in inventory and ready for purchase.
  • Company policy dictates the appropriate handling of special orders.
  • Maintains company standards for phone responsiveness and prioritizes assisting customers, supervising employees, and managing departmental tasks while present on the sales floor for a minimum of 75% of their work hours.
  • Instructing and guiding employees on how to deliver exceptional customer service, while also enforcing accountability practices within the team.
  • Ensuring that the team is aligned with the mandatory state and county food safety certifications and registration.
  • The Retail Team Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring that the store is meeting and/or exceeding expectations in the following areas:
  • Evaluation of sales performance in relation to labor hours utilizing the Sales per Labor Hour Ratio
  • The Mean Ticket Price, Number of Clients, and Expenses on Sold Products in the Produce Department
  • EBITDA
  • Guarantees that the selected vendors are used for ordering products to secure the accurate discounts and sustain profit margins.
  • Upholds company standards by securing consistent in-stock status
  • Observing the selection of products in stock, which involves:
  • Ongoing review of departments to sustain high-selling products and discontinue those with minimal traction
  • The company policy dictates the frequent introduction of new products.
  • Abides by the company's stocking and rotation standards for perishable items.
  • Markdowns are controlled in adherence to the company's specified guidelines.
  • Charged with assisting the Store Manager in managing the hiring, training, and supervision of all store employees per company standards.
  • Personnel undergo training, receive assignments, and are accountable for task completion.
  • Validates the precision, comprehensiveness, and relevance of both master and daily schedules to store needs. Ensures schedules are posted promptly and assigns daily tasks according to company task sheets.
  • Coordinates with department managers to share employees for task completion on a daily basis.
  • Trains and observes employees to ensure a unified store presence and help customers in all departments.
  • Partners with department heads to equip employees with the skills needed to fulfill various job responsibilities.
  • Partners with staff to ensure adequate product knowledge to meet customers' needs, training staff on where to find answers to customer questions by utilizing store resources.
  • Assists the Store Manager in the completion and implementation of staff performance evaluations in coordination with department managers. Supports in approving salary increments where required.
  • Manages the interview process and selects candidates for employment with collaborative input from department managers.
  • Handles all performance and/or disciplinary concerns in a timely manner, seeking support from the Human Resources department when needed.
  • Ensures transparent and effective communication with store staff members, such as organizing monthly team meetings and distributing important company information.
  • Tasked with ensuring that safety measures are always adhered to.
  • Ensures that edits to Ulti-time are done in a timely fashion.
  • Tasked with supporting the Store Manager in training, coaching, and developing the store team.
  • He/she promotes the development of staff understanding in nutrition and product knowledge.
  • In accordance with company guidelines, the individual ensures that customer inquiries are met with responses incorporating Structure/Function statements and statements related to nutritional support.
  • Carries out operational duties proficiently, covering tasks such as managing daily schedules, checklists, and opening and closing procedures.
  • Confirms that store paperwork and reports, including the Monthly Manager's Report, are accomplished within the required timeframe.
  • Accurately completes the DSR and Manager's Cash tasks efficiently.
  • Responds to all calls from department managers while on shift and assists in managing staff breaks.
  • Managing occasional disturbances that impact daily business routines, such as handling loiterers, addressing solicitation problems, responding to emergency weather events, and enforcing appropriate restroom usage.
  • Adheres to a work timetable based on the needs of the store, which may include evening and weekend shifts, with a total of 45 hours allotted per week.
  • Trains employees in providing support for decisions from the home office, adhering to directions from headquarters, and executing job responsibilities correctly.
  • Interprets and complies with directives (memorandums, telefaxes, electronic messaging) from the main office outside of the workplace.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in response to changing job requirements for goal attainment.
  • Within the workplace, managers are looked upon as leaders who demonstrate the expected standard of excellence through their work performance and professional behavior.

Qualification of Retail Team Operations Manager:

  • High school diploma or GED required 1-2 years management experience in grocery and/or related retail experience, natural foods industry a plus.
  • Competent in handling changing focus areas.
  • Ensuring compliance with state and county laws by satisfactorily completing applicable food safety training and passing required exams to acquire mandatory certifications.
  • It is imperative to hold certification for the operation of a forklift.
  • Adhere to regulations by staying up to date on your food safety certifications through continuous education and ensuring registration with the relevant governing agency when required.
  • Demonstrates a sense of immediacy in task completion and maintains strong organizational capabilities.
  • Demonstrates expertise in interacting with customers professionally.
  • Capability to take guidance and see tasks through to the end.
  • Essential to have cashier training experience.
  • Capability in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook mandatory.
