Tortilleria Clerk

Job Summary:

Join the Fiesta Mart family as a Tortilleria Clerk at our Houston Bellaire Blvd location (Store 007) and be part of a team that brings tradition and flavor to life. In this role, you'll assist in producing fresh tortillas and masa, ensure displays are clean and well-stocked, and provide top-tier customer service in a fast-paced, community-focused environment. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who loves food, culture, and serving others with pride.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing and packaging tortillas and masa using store equipment and recipes.
• Maintain clean and organized Tortilleria work areas and displays throughout the day.
• Rotate products and ensure tortillas and masa are fresh and correctly labeled.
• Greet and assist customers with tortilla or masa-related inquiries in a friendly, professional manner.
• Monitor product levels and restock as needed to meet customer demand.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling and storage of all products.
• Perform routine cleaning of tortilla machines and equipment to maintain operational standards.
• Follow verbal and written instructions and cooperate with team members to ensure smooth workflow.
• Must be able to work flexible shifts including weekends and evenings.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Must have or be able to obtain a valid Food Handler Card or equivalent certification.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
• Ability to read and understand basic instructions, product labels, and shelf tags.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and customer-first attitude.
• Ability to lift/move 25 60 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a physically active environment.
• Previous food service, bakery, or retail experience is a plus.
• Basic computer knowledge (Outlook, POS systems) and/or Retail Management Certificate is a bonus.

Salary:

$13.00 per hour starting rate, with opportunities for pay increases based on performance, experience, and time with the company.
