Role and Responsibilities

As a Seafood Team Member, you will assist customers, prepare and package fresh products, and maintain department standards. Your responsibilities include:

• Develop a comfortable and hospitable setting that assures customers of their importance, creating a welcoming and cherished experience.
• Address customer concerns and suggest appropriate products for their satisfaction.
• Supply customers with precise portion sizes of fresh and frozen products for optimal satisfaction.
• Keep customers informed about special pricing and promotions for meat and seafood selections.
• Provide recommendations for boosting customer purchases through additional products.
• Sort, mark, and keep track of inventory for meat and seafood items.
• Maintain standards of freshness and quality for products by monitoring sell-by dates and implementing necessary actions.
• Follow company guidelines for the operation and maintenance of departmental equipment like ovens, slicers, and refrigeration systems.
• Inspect and record the temperatures in the display case and refrigerator, making sure that food safety protocols are followed accurately.
• Uphold the accurate Country of Origin Designations for each meat and seafood product.
• Properly categorize, mark, and monitor stock items according to guidelines.
• Report any discrepancies, ordering issues, or safety concerns to the relevant department manager.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable local, state, and federal laws, as well as internal safety and food safety directives within the organization.
• Bolster safety measures by identifying risks and alerting management promptly.
• Contribute to preventive maintenance tasks by conducting equipment checks and communicating repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
• Stay in the loop with seasonal and promotional marketing campaigns.

Required Skills and Experience

• Skill in handling stressful situations with tranquility and success.
• The importance of honing communication skills cannot be overstated when interacting with clients and coworkers.
• Elementary mathematical skills, encompassing counting, addition, and subtraction.
• Consistently following food safety and security procedures with precision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to verbalize, interpret, or generate written content in a second dialect.
