Role and Responsibilities:
As a Grocery Stocker, you will be responsible for maintaining a well-stocked, organized, and clean grocery section of the store. You will play a key role in ensuring products are readily available, neatly displayed, and consistently replenished, creating a positive shopping experience for customers.
- Unload deliveries of grocery items and move them to appropriate storage areas.
- Stock shelves according to the store’s planogram to ensure accurate product placement.
- Rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) to reduce waste and maintain freshness.
- Ensure all products are clearly labeled with price tags and visible labels.
- Organize shelves to create neat, customer-friendly displays.
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels and notify managers when restocking is needed.
- Perform regular inventory checks and maintain backstock organization.
- Remove damaged, expired, or recalled products from shelves.
- Greet and assist customers while stocking shelves and provide product information.
- Help customers locate items and ensure aisles are clear of obstructions.
- Maintain awareness of store promotions, seasonal offerings, and product knowledge.
- Keep grocery aisles, shelves, and storage areas clean and safe.
- Sweep, mop, and wipe down shelves and displays as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and equipment use.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment issues promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient store operations.
- Communicate with managers about product needs, inventory, and operational issues.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in stocking, retail, or grocery store operations preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic math skills for inventory counts and product labeling.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
