Job Summary of Butcher Assistant:

In the capacity of a Butcher Assistant at the Meat Market, you are tasked with offering friendly and efficient service to customers, responding to inquiries, preparing and handling meat products, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Additionally, you help uphold a clean and organized work environment and provide support to team members in their daily tasks.

Responsibilities of Butcher Assistant:

• Comply with the regulations, protocols, and government requirements of the company.
• Comply with the Management Planning guidelines that are applicable.
• Engage in interactions with coworkers that reflect fairness, respect, and dignity for each person.
• Familiarize oneself with the cooking techniques associated with the variety of meat products offered.
• Aid in specific assignments and perform other functions as delegated by the team leader.
• Offer guidance and help in the development of other team members' skills.
• Follow the company's policy on personal appearance to maintain a professional and well-kept look.
• Promote continuous and clear communication both within the department and throughout the organization.
• Maintain adherence to the safety policies of the company. Communicate promptly about any necessary equipment repairs or maintenance work. Ensure the work area is clear of hazards and debris.
• Ensure the maintenance of company sanitation and food safety standards.
• Attend to any additional duties as prescribed.
• Deliver exceptional customer care by supporting and advising customers on product selection.
• Observe the recommended protocol for identifying, packaging, pricing, and weighing all items found in the meat department.
• Use the right rotation techniques when stocking the fresh, frozen, and self-service cases.
• Support meat cutters in their work by helping with scraping and arranging items on trays, cutting steaks into cubes, and processing ground meats through grinding.
• Accept delivery of meat, barcode, rotate, and store in designated storage zone.
• Perform a meticulous cleaning operation by washing, rinsing, and sanitizing all cases, wrapping stations, scaling devices, coolers, and cutting stations, with the added duty of disassembling and reassembling any equipment involved.

Qualifications of Butcher Assistant:

• Good interpersonal skills and desire to work in a team environment.
• Must meet minimum age requirements.
• Effective customer service and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.

Physical Requirements of Butcher Assistant:

• Perform tasks that involve lifting meat products in the weight range of 1 to 40 pounds frequently, and on occasion, handle items up to 100 pounds.
• Abide by the predetermined standards for the volume of tasks completed.
• Working conditions entail constant standing or walking in temperatures that primarily reach 45 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Carry out repetitive actions such as gripping, turning, reaching, and moving the hands and arms as part of the product identification, wrapping, pricing, and weighing process.
• Competent in managing different substances associated with cleaning materials, packaging supplies, and meat products.
• Frequent bending.
