The Produce Associate provides friendly, efficient service by slicing, packaging, weighing, and selling deli products, including meats and cheeses. This role ensures the deli area is clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing while assisting members with product selection and special orders.

• Improve member experience by responding to queries, offering advice, and processing individualized orders.
• Carve, measure, and wrap deli items like meats, cheeses, and cooked foods for retail distribution.
• Guide members in selecting products with the help of a comprehensive collection of samples.
• Assess the quality and freshness of deli shipments during inspection.
• Place, swap, and exhibit deli goods following prescribed procedures for food safety and preserving their freshness.
• Daily assessment of expired inventory is crucial to executing correct disposal or recovery techniques.
• Consistently sanitize and clean deli equipment and work surfaces to ensure a safe food preparation environment.
• Use caution and precision when handling slicers, scales, and rotisserie ovens in operation.
• The accuracy of scale systems is crucial for ensuring pricing and labeling are done correctly.
• Maintain compliance with BJ's policies and procedures by following them accurately.
• Take on additional obligations as assigned, such as supporting other departments when necessary.
• Showing up regularly and predictably is a key component of this position.

Environmental Job Conditions:

• Repeatedly being on your feet and in motion on unyielding grounds.
• On occasion, there may be bending, reaching, and lifting of objects weighing up to 30 lbs (assistance required for heavier items).
• Navigate through different temperature ranges when coming into contact with coolers, ovens, and freezers.
• Random exposure to cleansing agents.

Qualifications:

• Candidates with a history of working in a deli or food service environment are preferred.
• Applicants who are experienced in using slicers, scales, and similar deli equipment will be given preference.
• Grasping the array of deli products and the importance of following food safety regulations.
• Only individuals who have surpassed 18 years are eligible.
