Role and Responsibilities:

As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items for cold cases, fresh packs, salad bars, and hot bars while maintaining presentation and sanitation standards. You will ensure consistency, freshness, and excellent customer service in alignment with Whole Foods Market's values and food safety standards.

• Prepare food items for cold showcases, newly packaged goods, salad assortments, and hot bar offerings using production sheets and culinary directives.
• Maintain quality and freshness of prepared items through proper labeling, dating, covering, monitoring, and rotation.
• Monitor food levels and promptly replenish items as needed.
• Be punctual, well-groomed, and prepared for scheduled shifts; attend all required training sessions and meetings.
• Provide superior customer service, promptly address customer needs, and demonstrate effective sales strategies.
• Maximize sales by ensuring proper preparation, storage, rotation, restocking, and presentation of products.
• Follow procedures for Weights and Measures, sanitation protocols, and safe work practices.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workplace and retail environment; ensure appliances, storage spaces, and refrigeration units meet cleanliness standards.
• Carry out opening, mid-shift, and closing duties, ensuring signage and pricing accuracy.
• Report any safety hazards or violations immediately.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors at the store, regional, or national levels.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Comprehensive product knowledge and ability to follow recipes accurately.
• Understanding of food preparation and key cooking techniques.
• Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and portion control.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to interact clearly and respectfully with team members, customers, and vendors.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 to 12 months of retail experience.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly wages range from $16.50 to $30.20, based on experience and a standard 40-hour workweek.
• Benefits may include health insurance, retirement plans, store discounts, paid time off, and eligibility for other programs (determined at hiring).
