Job Summary of Pharmacy Manager:

This position is responsible for managing the pharmacy department, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and overseeing the daily operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and profitable services. The individual drives team engagement, customer satisfaction, and clinical programs to improve patient care and grow business performance.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Pharmacy Manager:

• Maintain a collaborative relationship with the store operations team, driving associate engagement and communicating department and Weis Markets strategy to pharmacy associates.
• Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of prescriptions filled by completing Drug Utilization Review and Final Quality Assurance, in compliance with state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Manage the department to build a profitable business, promoting clinical programs like immunization and Medication Therapy Management (MTM), and assisting with inventory management.
• Align performance objectives to key department metrics for effectiveness and efficiency within the Rx department.
• Provide excellent customer service, including assisting with medical-related issues and offering healthcare counseling.
• Supervise pharmacists and pharmacy associates, including directing training, coaching, and discipline.
• Maintain the security of the pharmacy department and resolve customer issues to build trust and loyalty.
• Interact with physicians and use reference materials to resolve prescription issues and improve patient outcomes.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department and prioritize tasks such as cycle counts, inventory management, and will-calls.

Qualifications and Experience of Pharmacy Manager:

• Bachelor's degree (BS), Doctoral degree (PHARM.D.), or equivalent in Pharmacy.
• Two (2) years of retail pharmacy experience.
• Immunization Certification through an accredited organization (e.g., APhA) required.
