Role and Responsibilities:
- Handle tasks concerning the intake and storage of goods, which may include unloading deliveries, confirming with RF scanners, organizing items in designated locations, overseeing cross-docking procedures, and picking flow-through inventory.
- Show up at the workplace promptly, dressed properly, and ready to begin work during designated shifts.
- Observe OSHA and Whole Foods protocols when using a powered pallet jack or forklift.
- Maintain a workspace that is orderly and free of clutter for safety purposes.
- Adhere strictly to the safety policies set by OSHA and the facility.
- Notify the Team Leader or Facility Leadership immediately in the event of any accidents or injuries.
- Handle unloading tasks for truck shipments, validate information against the bill of lading, input into the warehouse management system, and stage for storage.
- Examine products as they arrive to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
- Accurately label merchandise for organization after verification.
- Complete storage tasks as required and maintain all related equipment.
- Ensure accuracy in receiving, arranging, and selecting products in continuous flow.
- Properly stage cross-dock items upon arrival.
- Maintain clear receiving areas for products, recyclables, and waste.
- Load sustainable materials and products onto trucks for shipping.
- Accurately complete all inbound paperwork tasks.
- Attend all team and facility meetings consistently.
Necessary Skills and Background:
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Proficiency in safely and efficiently operating all necessary equipment.
- Commitment to meeting customer service expectations with vendors, customers, and team members.
- Ability to perform tasks thoroughly, accurately, and on schedule.
- Understanding of quality benchmarks and in-depth product knowledge within WFM operations.
- Demonstrated reliability and accountability in task completion.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in paperwork.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of experience in receiving operations.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly wage ranges from $22.00 to $39.60, depending on experience.
- Benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, store discounts, paid time off, and participation in additional benefit programs.
- Eligibility for Full Benefits is based on the plan effective at the start of employment.
