Job Summary of Assistant Stock Manager:

The Assistant Stock Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring and cultivating an outstanding shopping experience for customers, with a strong emphasis on customer service, driving sales growth, and enhancing profitability. They create a stimulating environment for all team members. The Assistant Stock Manager leads the retail store, ensuring that it meets and maintains the operational standards set by the company and the store manager. Furthermore, the Assistant Stock Manager is responsible for training, motivating, mentoring, coaching, and developing store team members to guarantee the provision of best-in-class store operations. The Assistant Stock Manager also ensures compliance among all store team members with company policies and procedures, as well as city, state, and federal requirements.

Responsibilities of Assistant Stock Manager:

  • Give direction, coaching, and growth opportunities to store staff relating to their tasks, duties, role specifications, and performance standards
  • Build a positive and safe store environment that aims to enhance the experiences of both staff and consumers
  • Works alongside the store manager to devise the weekly timetable for the team
  • Supervises store operations in the store manager's nonattendance, specifically handling opening and closing responsibilities
  • Handles and/or manages building maintenance responsibilities
  • Illustrates a true commitment to the growth, development, and success of team members through rigorous training, coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities, and aids the Store Manager in implementing progressive disciplinary measures as needed
  • Foster consistent and impactful communication with a wide range of stakeholders, from store associates to district managers
  • Manages the store in compliance with operational standards established by the company, striving for increased sales, profitability, and delivering exceptional shopping experiences
  • Provides direction to ensure excellent daily store conditions, encompassing all essential daily operations within the produce, meat, and center store departments in full accordance with the company's operational standards and strategies. Ensures the consistent implementation of Food Safety measures, compliance with safety policies ?including the safe operation of power equipment, and the achievement of outstanding daily sanitation standards
  • Accountable for tracking key statistics related to store operations, such as sales data, customer traffic, labor efficiency, and inventory losses
  • Inspects, comprehends, and implements operational and financial data to facilitate well-founded business decisions when overseeing the store's operations, whether individually or in coordination with the store manager
  • Responsible for overseeing the execution of the merchandising program, encompassing plan-o-grams, displays, pricing signs, shelf tags, and loyalty initiatives
  • Maintains a high level of operational excellence to create a positive shopping experience for customers, offering a clean, well-stocked, and welcoming store environment
  • Regulates inventory quantities based on the store's distinct metrics to uphold quality, freshness, and efficient rotation techniques that meet the company's expectations
  • Charged with overseeing perishable product offerings and operations, including maintaining stock availability, complying with freshness guidelines, and reducing shrinkage exposure
  • Charged with understanding sales data and trends for the purpose of maintaining accurate inventory procedures and ordering protocols
  • Tasked with ensuring compliance and execution of various policies and procedures, ranging from accounting practices, cash management, inventory procedures, loss prevention strategies, payroll processing, sanitation practices, food safety regulations, documentation standards, handling policy infractions, to managing administrative responsibilities.
  • Meets the criteria for food safety certification as mandated by the company and local regulations
  • Remains dedicated to providing assistance to the store manager
  • Handles additional duties as instructed

Qualification of Assistant Stock Manager:

  • One must have attained the age of 18 or above to qualify
  • Obtaining a high school diploma or a corresponding credential is essential
  • Primary involvement with electronic technology and communications is pivotal for adapting to the evolving digital landscape
  • The ideal candidate will have accumulated a minimum of two years of experience in a management capacity
  • Candidates with a proven track record of supervisory experience, as well as a background in coordinating schedules, overseeing merchandising activities, and managing budgetary constraints and expenditures, are highly desired
  • The ideal candidates are those who have received education in leadership and management

Physical Requirements of Assistant Stock Manager:

  • Proficiency in reaching, bending, stabilizing, lifting, and moving various items weighing 20-50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift is essential; sometimes, the weight of the products may reach 50-80 pounds
  • Proficient in utilizing strength to push, pull, grip, twist, and perform sawing motions for a prolonged period
  • Consistently undertakes duties within freezers, coolers, and refrigerated areas within and outside the establishment, despite various weather conditions, including tasks within delivery vehicles
  • The necessity to be able to stand, walk, or move for extended periods cannot be overlooked
