Responsibilities of Grocery Stock Clerk:

• Performs duties to uphold the cleanliness of grocery shelves, storage locations, and the work area for safety measures, encompassing tasks such as organizing shelves and merchandise, keeping floors free of liquid spills or water, removing hazardous debris, and sweeping.
• Involves the positioning of a variety of products on shelves as directed by the Grocery Department, ensuring that pricing and tags are precise, and maintaining the organization and presentation of items as outlined by the store.
• Reviews the management of grocery product rotation, with a particular emphasis on spotting expired items and removing goods that are outdated or spoiled.
• Demonstrates a customer-centric approach by addressing inquiries and assisting customers in their buying process, offering advice and recommendations on products; involves promoting and suggesting complementary products.
• Upon receipt, products are reviewed, recorded, and evaluated for their shipment accuracy, temperature control, and quality assurance.
• Checks the point-of-sale signs; ensures the availability of different recipe cards, product discounts, promotional materials, and information on complimentary food items.
• Working with various equipment such as knives, scales, wrapping machines, compactors, garbage disposals, and handling pallet jacks and hand trucks is part of the position.
• Applies expertise in scales and measurements for the accurate weighing and labeling of products.
• Sets up and stacks crates for building market installations and marks and prices merchandise.
• Engages in pre-inventory readiness, which comprises handling back stock and verifying that tags correspond correctly with products.
