Role and Responsibilities of Merchandising Team Member:

The position of a Merchandising Team Member Associate requires delivering top-quality customer service and maintaining high standards of merchandising in the Center Store (Grocery) Department. Responsibilities include maximizing sales and minimizing losses through efficient inventory management and adherence to company guidelines.

• Retain customer enthusiasm by consistently delivering fast, friendly, and accurate service.
• Be polite and supportive to your team members.
• Keep Specialty Merchandising Team Member inventory levels in line with established practices, overseeing both backroom supplies and product placement on shelves.
• Observe the designated shelf allocations as per the plan-o-grams.
• Ensure the swift stocking of fresh items and labels within one week of delivery, in accordance with plan-o-grams for optimal placement.
• Carry out the management of merchandise ordering, receiving, preparing, setting up, and showcasing in accordance with company rules.
• Utilize corporate solutions including the average cost inventory system (ACIS) and purchasing application (CAO) for better management.
• Adhere to the requirements for food safety and workplace safety; identify and address any unsafe conditions.
• Uphold the standardized process for reporting incidents that involve both staff members and patrons as prescribed by Food Lion.
• Observe the guidelines for appropriate attire by wearing the designated uniform specified by Food Lion.
• Conclude the essential computer-centric and alternative training sessions.
• Complete further responsibilities as delegated.

Required Skills and Experience of Merchandising Team Member:

• It is advantageous to have completed high school or an equivalent program.
• Impressive capabilities in interpersonal engagement, organization, communication, and customer service excellence.
• Competence and keenness to understand various duties and technical requirements of a job.
• Leveraging technical data to address issues in a more effective manner.
• Compliance with the minimum age specifications is mandatory for the role.
• Capable of meeting physical requirements with or without reasonable adjustments.
• Capable of effectively utilizing computers and communication systems required for work tasks.

Preferred Qualifications of Merchandising Team Member:

• Hands-on experience in implementing inventory management systems and optimizing grocery retail processes.
• Previous engagement in customer care or stocking merchandise.
