The Checkout Coordinator ensures a pleasant, prompt, and precise checkout encounter for our patrons. The position involves carrying out transactions, managing payments, and advocating BJ's club subscription opportunities, while also upholding the tidiness and systematization of the front section.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in fundamental mathematical concepts and proficiency in handling currency is advantageous.
• Previous experience in cashier, retail, or customer service roles is desirable.
• Excellent abilities in effectively communicating and interacting with customers.
• Proficiency in handling tasks efficiently in a dynamic and busy setting.

Core duties, roles, and primary responsibilities within a position:

• Delivers outstanding customer support through warm greetings, efficient transaction handling, and polite responses to inquiries.
• Uses the POS system to scan items for precise pricing and monitoring of stock levels.
• Handles a variety of payment methods such as cash, checks, credit cards, and mobile payments.
• Provides and elucidates the advantages of membership, extensions, and enhancements like BJ’s Rewards and Simple Renewal initiatives.
• Provides customers with receipts or correct change and verifies the accuracy of all transactions.
• Supports customers using self-service checkout and scan-to-pay kiosks by resolving simple technical problems.
• Ensures the front-end space, cash registers, and customer checkout aisles are kept tidy and organized.
• Keeps abreast of promotions and advertisements to notify members of discounts and exclusive deals.
• Adhering to all club policies and procedures in order to maintain high operational standards and meet member expectations.
• Carries out extra responsibilities as designated, such as aiding in different areas as required.
• Consistent and expected attendance is a fundamental requirement for this role.

Environmental Job Conditions:

• Regularly being on one's feet and moving around on firm ground.
• Infrequent bending, stretching, and carrying objects weighing up to 30 pounds (heavier loads supported by others).
• Essentially an indoor setting with limited contact to fluctuations in temperature or excessive noise.
• Infrequent contact with cleaning substances.
