Receiver / Stock Associate

Role and Responsibilities of Receiver / Stock Associate:

As a DSD Receiver / Stock Associate, you will ensure the proper receiving of Direct Store Delivery (DSD) products by following Food Lion policies and procedures. You will also help maintain compliance with company standards, enhance sales through excellent service, and protect company assets while minimizing shrink.

• Foster a culture of energetic customer engagement through swift, personable, and precise support.
• Demonstrate polite and supportive behavior towards other team members.
• Maintain the integrity of company possessions by accurately handling the receiving and returning process of DSD products.
• Enforce the vendor receiving protocols outlined by Food Lion.
• Engage with vendors to resolve inaccuracies, breaches of regulations, or an abundance of inventory.
• Work with the Assistant Store Manager to ensure timely implementation of vendor promotions.
• Enhance the efficiency of implementing the weekly merchandising directives.
• Ensure the accuracy of DSD plan-o-grams.
• Keep track of and organize daily and weekly DSD tickets, along with invoices for beer and wine products.
• Match EDI invoices for reconciliation purposes and ensure all invoices are settled.
• Ensure proper handling of all reclamation and restitution processes.
• Carry out CAO responsibilities regarding the stocking and rotation of cigarette cartons.
• Make the most of internal tools like Average Cost Inventory System (ACIS) and CAO requisition system.
• Ensure conformity with the company's regulations, directives, and established norms.
• Comply with guidelines for both food and workplace safety, taking necessary steps to address any hazardous situations.
• Notify the Manager on Duty of any accidents involving associates or customers based on Food Lion guidelines.
• Follow the regulations established at the local, state, and federal levels to ensure conformity.
• Maintain a professional image by donning the Food Lion uniform and displaying your name badge in a clean and presentable manner.
• Effectively complete courses in Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packets, and Training Aid.
• Carry out any other assigned responsibilities.

Required Skills and Experience of Receiver / Stock Associate:

• Candidates are encouraged to have completed high school or its equivalent.
• Proficient in interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer care capabilities.
• Aptitude and eagerness to grasp various tasks and fulfill technical job criteria.
• Applying problem-solving skills with a technical understanding.
• It is necessary to fulfill the minimum age prerequisites in order to perform the tasks required for the job effectively.
• Capability to meet the physical criteria of the role, with or without suitable modifications.

Physical Requirements of Receiver / Stock Associate:

• Capable of operating computers and various communication systems essential to job responsibilities.
• Execute recurring gestures with the hands and arms.
• Lift up to 15 lbs. consistently, manage 25 lbs. regularly, and handle 50 lbs. intermittently by bending and lifting.
• It is required to move or transport objects weighing up to 75 lbs. periodically.
• Stay upright and engage in frequent short walks throughout the day.
• Manage the handling of substances linked to cleaning and packaging supplies, fresh produce, botanicals, and home cleaning agents.
• Consistently deal with money and operate a range of equipment including registers, lottery systems, scanners, computers, and calculators.
• Perform frequent reaching and grasping at waist level; occasionally reach above shoulder/below waist.
• Meet the performance expectations outlined for the job.
• Perform tasks in extremely high or low temperatures for up to 20 minutes when necessary.
• Maintain the necessary visual capacity to verify IDs, checks, invoices, and other types of written documentation.
