• Accurately process customer transactions, including cash, credit, debit, coupons, and loyalty rewards.
• Assist customers by answering questions and offering helpful product suggestions.
• Comply with company policies for restricted items such as alcohol and tobacco.
• Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and safe.
• Balance the cash register and follow cash-handling guidelines to minimize loss.
• Promote Kroger's programs, services, and discounts to customers.
• Follow company protocol for pricing issues, safety concerns, and theft prevention.
• Encourage teamwork by supporting fellow associates and maintaining a positive atmosphere.

Necessary Qualifications and Background:

• Ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills including counting, addition, and subtraction.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain professional under pressure.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in cashier, courtesy clerk, or customer service roles.
• Multilingual communication skills are a plus.
