Role and Responsibilities:

As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items for cold cases, fresh packs, salad bars, and hot bars while maintaining presentation and sanitation standards. You will ensure consistency, freshness, and excellent customer service in alignment with Whole Foods Market's values and food safety standards.

• Use the production sheets and recipes as guidelines to craft food items for cold showcases, fresh packs, salad displays, and hot bar offerings.
• To sustain quality and freshness, ensure that all prepared items are labeled, dated, covered, monitored, and rotated correctly.
• Maintain awareness of food levels and restock items promptly.
• Timely arrival, proper grooming, and readiness for scheduled shifts are crucial; it is mandatory to attend all required training sessions and meetings.
• Deliver exceptional customer support, promptly address customer inquiries, and showcase effective sales tactics.
• Increase sales potential through the correct preparation, storage, rotation, restocking, and merchandising of items.
• Comply with recognized standards regarding Weights and Measures, sanitation and hygiene requirements, and the observance of secure working procedures.
• Uphold a hygienic and tidy workspace and retail setting; guarantee that machinery, storage areas, and cold storage units adhere to sanitation protocols.
• Complete start, middle, and end responsibilities with attention to maintaining accurate signage and pricing.
• Report promptly any safety issues and non-compliance.
• Execute extra assignments as instructed by management at the store, regional, or national scale.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Extensive familiarity with products and the ability to faithfully follow recipes.
• Knowledge of food preparation and basic cooking methods.
• Basic math abilities necessary for culinary tasks involving ingredient measurement and portioning.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication talents coupled with a collaborative spirit.
• Proficiency in maintaining respectful and transparent communication with team members, customers, and vendors.
• Prioritizing customer satisfaction and consistently meeting expectations in every interaction.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 to 12 months of retail experience.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly earnings range from $16.50 to $30.20, corresponding to the candidate's experience and assuming a 40-hour workweek.
• The benefits package may include health insurance, retirement plans, store discounts, paid leave, and eligibility for other programs (determined at the time of hire).
