Produce Clerk

Job Summary

Join Fiesta Mart Store #043 Houston Braeswood as a Produce Clerk and bring your passion for food, community, and excellent customer service to our fresh produce department. Under the guidance of the Produce Manager, you'll help maintain high standards of product presentation, assist customers with their selections, and ensure that produce displays are clean, stocked, and rotated properly. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a friendly attitude in a vibrant, fast-paced grocery environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service to assist with produce selection and inquiries.
• Clean, stock, and rotate fresh produce displays to maintain freshness and appearance.
• Monitor product quality and promptly remove any damaged or expired items.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the produce department including workstations and equipment.
• Assist in receiving and unloading deliveries, verifying product quantities and quality.
• Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Communicate effectively with management and team members to meet department goals.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Produce Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

• Ability to read and write in English and/or Spanish, with strong interpersonal skills to interact with customers and coworkers.
• Capable of reading product labels, pricing tags, and simple instructions.
• Ability to lift regularly up to 25 lbs, frequently up to 45 lbs, and occasionally up to 60 lbs.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks throughout a shift.
• Basic PC and Outlook skills are a plus.
• Retail Management Certificate is an advantage but not required.
• Previous produce or grocery experience is a plus, but training will be provided.
