Job Summary of Bakery Counter Clerk:

To aid in the maintenance and functioning of the Bakery Department. A Bakery Counter Clerk ensures customers receive great service and assists in the day-to-day operations of the bakery unit. Duties involve preparing, packaging, labeling, and restocking baked goods such as bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies.

Responsibilities of Bakery Counter Clerk:

• Ensure shelves are orderly and properly stocked.
• Monitor product freshness by implementing a coding system and removing any out-of-code inventory on a daily basis to uphold quality standards.
• Ensure that all merchandise is wrapped, packaged, and priced with precision and readability.
• Adhere to the routine maintenance of cleanliness and sanitation in accordance with company policies.
• Nurture strong customer relationships by offering timely and courteous service.
• Offer a kind greeting to all clients and stay aware of the surroundings.
• Follow and respect the rules and policies as stipulated in the company's Employee Handbook.
• Deal with incoming calls and manage special requests.
• Offer support in the baking of assorted treats.
• Aid customers in selecting and ordering a cake that meets their needs and preferences.
• Assist in handling and storing newly delivered items.

Qualifications of Bakery Counter Clerk:

• Must have strong communication skills to provide adequate customer service.
• Must have dexterity in hands to wrap and package products.
• Must be able to read and write to properly tag and price the products.
• Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds as needed.
