Job Summary for Bakery Team Member:

Completes the baking process and inspects each bakery product to verify that they comply with the recommended guidelines for doneness and quality. Retrieves frozen bakery items and organizes them according to the suggested quantities indicated on the bakery production schedule, while also adhering to the designated guidelines for safe storage and handling. Upholds the cleanliness and safety protocols within the bakery section to ensure a hygienic and secure workspace for all.

Key functions, roles, and crucial responsibilities:

• Assists with queries and offers bakery suggestions. Manages incoming calls from customers and arranges personalized requests.
• Utilizes ovens and necessary machinery to finalize and bake all bakery items based on the provided handling information for each product. References bakery production documents to determine the necessary production quantities and presentation demands. Gathers and organizes products for readiness for the following business day.
• Packages a variety of freshly made baked goods, such as cookies, Danish pastries, muffins, bread rolls, and pies, as required. Unpacks frozen bakery items and sets out the appropriate quantities based on the bakery's production guidelines.
• Adorns bespoke or personalized merchandise with special touches.
• Maintains bakery product quality by following correct procedures for storage, rotation, and handling in accordance with food safety regulations.
• Receives, checks, and organizes bakery shipments. Ensures proper rotation and storage of bakery merchandise, adhering to regulations on food safety, product freshness, and handling procedures.
• Maintains the freshness and quality consistency of the products by routinely inspecting for expiration dates and adhering to the company's guidelines for handling outdated items.
• Produces labels and price tags for bakery merchandise and carries out price verification duties when required. Guarantees accurate pricing for all products.
• Ensures the cleanliness and sanitation of bakery tools, display units, and food contact surfaces, which may include ovens, kitchen utensils, refrigeration units, showcases, shelving, and countertops.
• Runs and manages bakery tools and equipment according to appropriate working techniques in alignment with safety regulations and protocols.
• Ensures compliance with all club rules and guidelines.
• Undertakes any other tasks as designated, which may involve collaborating across various departments.
• Regular, expected, thorough attendance is a key component of this role.

Qualifications:

• Prior exposure to working in a bakery or customer service role is preferred.
• Preference for familiarity with baked goods.
• Individuals must have reached the age of 18.

Environmental Job Conditions:

• A significant portion of the day is allocated towards navigating non-harsh terrains. It may be necessary on occasion to place oneself in a specific posture to assess or observe items, which may involve activities like flexing, grasping, dragging, stretching, propelling, and/or leaning.
• Must be able to lift items weighing up to 30 pounds on a regular basis. Occasionally, there might be a need to lift and relocate large or unwieldy objects that weigh more than 30 pounds, requiring assistance.
• Located in a comfortable indoor environment with frequent exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers.
• Cleaning agents are commonly encountered on a regular basis.
