Job Summary of Cashier Attendant:
In the role of a Cashier Attendant, your main responsibility is to ensure that customers receive a top-notch checkout service by processing transactions quickly and accurately while also being friendly. You will need to handle all payments correctly and keep the front-end area clean and well-organized. Furthermore, you will be expected to assist customers with any queries, participate in charitable promotions, and adhere to all company policies and procedures to ensure a safe, efficient, and enjoyable shopping environment.
Responsibilities of Cashier Attendant:
- Carry out customer transactions with accuracy and speed
- It is essential to present accurate changes and validation of acquisition for all transactions carried out.
- Be well-informed about the pricing and the placement of products within the store.
- Extend greetings to clients and offer swift, friendly assistance.
- Encourage customers to get involved in charitable causes while also taking advantage of promotional offers.
- Package customer items securely and efficiently, following instructions to use either reusable or paper/plastic bags as requested.
- Ensure that the front-end section is kept clean and orderly, encompassing the registers, conveyor belts, and immediate surroundings.
- Always abide by safety protocols when dealing with cash and operating the register apparatus.
- Comply with all guidelines related to register operations, refunds, void transactions, and authorized overrides as per company policies.
- Ensure management is aware of any equipment, pricing, or customer concerns requiring attention.
- Help with refilling quick-grab items and managing the appearance of front-of-house advertising exhibits.
- Collaborate closely with the front-end team and different departments to enhance customer experience.
- Occupy the register station for the entire shift duration, even if it exceeds 8 hours each day.
- Stay committed to punctuality and regular attendance.
- Be willing to put in extra time as required by your employer.
- Execute supplementary duties as needed.
Qualifications of Cashier Attendant:
- Must be 18 years or older to operate register equipment independently.
- Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English proficiently.
- Ability to perform basic math functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to stand and walk for the entire duration of a scheduled shift.
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, and lift up to 25 lbs. regularly, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Ability to handle multiple transactions quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others and follow all company time and attendance policies.
