Job Summary of Closing Operations Manager:
To proficiently handle and manage all store responsibilities in the store manager's nonappearance.
Responsibilities of Closing Operations Manager:
- Maintaining a culture of politeness among store personnel towards customers and handling customer complaints or requests professionally and effectively.
- In charge of distributing tasks effectively to achieve maximum performance and adhering to proper follow-up procedures.
- To create a system that ensures the store remains clean and well-organized, pleasing the customers with its appearance.
- Maintain the infrastructure and tools to ensure they meet safety operation standards.
- Accountable for maintaining product freshness and executing merchandising initiatives to drive sales and profitability.
- To establish and manage successful fire and safety programs as directed by Risk Management.
- Enact and uphold the security protocols within the store and its periphery, as per the directives set by the Loss Prevention Department, to ensure a secure environment.
- Extending thanks to all clients for their loyal support.
- Verifying the functionality of store refrigeration units in the evening.
- To handle the store's operation during the evening hours in the store manager's nonappearance.
- To adhere to the policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook of the company.
- Assist with cash office duties as needed, including filling in during breaks and verifying deposits.
- To provide help in any section of the store when necessary.
- Report any evening incidents to the store manager or the department managers promptly.
- To lend a hand in the grocery section with responsibilities like constructing displays, organizing inventory, setting up signs, retrieving carts, and stocking shelves.
Qualifications of Closing Operations Manager:
- Minimum requirement of a high school education. A college education is helpful but not required.
- At least 1 year of management experience in a retail environment is required.
- Must possess the ability to make critical decisions and to provide effective leadership.
- Must possess excellent communication skills in order to deal with customers and other employees.
- Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds (50 lbs.) approximately thirty percent (30%) of the time.
- Must have the ability to retrieve and place merchandise on the top racks in the grocery aisles for proper storage. The top racking process may be 20% of the time working in the aisles during the shift.
- Must have the ability to operate a pallet jack, step carts, and the Big Joe.
